| Twin Ridges Wind Farm is a planned wind generation facility to be located on Big Savage Ridge Area, north of the Maryland-Pennsylvania border, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Project Characteristics Location: Somerset County, Pennsylvania Project Size: 120-200 MW Developer: EverPower Owner: EverPower Wind Holdings, Inc. Lead Agent: Steuben County Industrial Development Agency Project Status • Permitting studies nearly complete • Landowner negotiations being finalized • Submission to Somerset Planning Commission expected Q2 2010 • Completion of the Pennsylvania Permitting Process expected Q4 2010 • Construction expected late 2010 with Commercial Operation Late 2011 • Site Control for Wind Project Finalized • Generator Lead Line Corridor is signed or under late stage negotiations • Wind Resource - 3 met towers in place • Interconnection- Finalizing System Impact Study with PJM • Road Construction expected in late 2010, Project Construction in 2011 Economic and Environmental Benefits • Construction of the Project will require local and regional labor as well as logistic and materials resources; • Tax Payments and Impact Fees will be paid to the local communities; • Operation and maintenance of the Project will require 8 to 10 full time employees; • The Project will provide the Mid-Atlantic Region with supply of domestically generated, clean electricity and may act as a hedge against rising natural gas, oil, coal or plutonium variable pricing. • The Project if built at the full 200 MW would offset; - CO2 emissions by approximately 480,000 tons per year - SO2 emissions by approximately 2160 tons per year - NOx emissions by approximately 960 tons per year | |
